Possibly the first post-apocolyptic ironic eco-funk video ever made, this short film depicts the climax of the concert from multi-media project 'Home, Small As The World'. Taken from the end of the concert, the part looking at Planet Earth as our collective home, the start of 'Message From The Future' interrupts a more serious and beautiful piece called Gaia, breaking into the feed to the surprise of the band, who leave the stage only to return in space suits and helmets to perform 'Party On' which ends with the world exploding, and all humanity's love hopes and dreams bleeding from the cracks in our planet. Commissioned by the Martyn Bennett Foundation, this is the result of a collaboration with DJ Dolphin Boy. It is a celebration of the work of Martyn Bennett, reworking his famous piece '4 Notes' from Bothy Culture- with sections using 1 note, 2 notes, 3 notes then 4 notes- featuring Fraser Fifield on pipes, Martin Swan and Deirdre Morrison on fiddles. The result of a collaboration with brother Tom Bancroft and Gaelic vocalist and harpist Kathleen Graham, made for BBC Alba, where the whole collaborative process, from first meeting to final performance was filmed and made into an episode of the groundbreaking series A'Garaids.
